Formerly an Assistant District Attorney for the County of Suffolk (1996-1998) and an Associate of the Law Office of John C.
Tsunis, Maria Gasparis has been a partner in our law firm since 1999 and Managing Partner since October 2014. Ms. Gasparis focuses her practice on
representing lenders, borrowers, investors, developers and landlords
in various aspects of real estate transactions including commercial
and residential lending, commercial and residential zoning, acquisitions, sales and leasing. Ms. Gasparis also has extensive experience representing clients in landlord tenant
proceedings, estate planning, probate and estate administration, matrimonial and family law, civil litigation and criminal law.
Ms. Gasparis received her Juris Doctor from Albany

P.C., John C. Tsunis opened his law practice in 1977, specializing in
real estate, zoning, commercial transactions and banking law. John Tsunis is retired as Special Counsel to our firm and was Managing Partner until October 2014. He is currently Executive Vice President of Private Banking at Alma Bank. He previously served as the chairman of the Long Island Advisory Board of Investors Bank. He is the former Chairman of the Board and CEO of Gold Coast Bank in Islandia, New York, and served as a member of its executive and loan committees. He is also the former Vice Chairman and General Counsel for Long Island Commercial Bank (Islandia,
NY) and served as a member of its board of directors, executive committee,
and loan committees. He is active in real estate development
transactions, hotel management and development, a Member of the Board of Governors of Touro Law School, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, President of Tsunis Family
Foundation Inc., past chair of the Stony Brook University Medical Center Children's Hospital Task Force and active in other philanthropic endeavors.
Mr. Tsunis received a Juris
Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1975 and is
a graduate of New York University with Honors in Banking and Finance
(1973). While he practiced, Mr. Tsunis had extensive experience representing clients in
zoning, real estate transaction, contracts, commercial law, banking,
foreclosure, business organization, estates and trusts, and landlord
